Bibliography
Various osteological specimens were examined: "Vulpes fulva" #9710379, Vulpes vulpes L29, and Canis latrans H1, E80, and #891259 of the Indiana University Zooarchaeology Laboratory. Canis lupus #9810015, an adult male timber wolf, was skinned, eviscerated and fleshed by the author during the course of the research. Information also comes from observation and instruction during a five-week internship at Wolf Park, in Battle Ground, Indiana, during the summer of 1997.
